Officially Launched, Hibank Focuses on the MSME Segment

Jakarta, Tangerangtalk.Online - PT Bank Mayora, a subsidiary of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI, has officially changed its name to Hibank. This name change is part of the digital bank's commitment to expand into the national Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) segment.

BNI's President Director, Royke Tumilaar, revealed that with this transformation, Hibank is expected to become a provider of integrated digital financial solutions, particularly for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) segment.

"This is certainly one of our surprises. With this name change, we will push Hibank to improve its performance in the MSME segment, particularly in contributing positively to nation-building," he said on Thursday (May 25, 2023).

BNI officially acquired PT Bank Mayora on May 18, 2021, and subsequently transformed it into a digital bank. The appointment of a new management team has been made, and it is expected to strengthen the company's management structure.

According to him, the new management of Hibank is an ideal combination as it consists of professionals and experts from various backgrounds, including consulting, startups, fintech, and banking.

"Through the collaboration of the new management, we believe that Hibank can bring positive changes with a new spirit and hope to realize the vision of a digital bank that is 'digital-first' for MSMEs, and the best in Indonesia," he added.

Jumping Higher

Meanwhile, "Hibank" (pronounced as "hi bank") is based on the approval letter from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) dated May 17, 2023.

The name "Hibank" was chosen to represent an identity that aligns with the vision and mission of the bank, portraying the friendly, simple, and reliable character of a digital bank that MSMEs can rely on to #JumpHigher.

Furthermore, the name and logo change also reaffirm Hibank's strength and experience in the financial industry with the support of the BNI Group.

Embracing the vision of becoming the leading Digital Bank for MSMEs in Indonesia, Hibank's CEO, Jenny Wiriyanto, stated that Hibank will solidify its role as an ecosystem orchestrator for MSMEs.
